Facebook Social Network Marketing Mistakes
Discover the biggest mistakes people make when setting up their Facebook business pages for social network marketing.
The only site that gets more internet traffic than Facebook is Google. Knowing that, many businesses want to have a presence on Facebook. However, in trying to create a business page on Facebook, many businesses make some common mistakes.
Most Common Mistakes
1. Having no Facebook Fan Page. This is the main way to create a business page on Facebook. You can start with a profile page, but your business shouldn’t stop there. Be professional. Use your Fan page for business and marketing...not your personal profile that mixes in your friends and family.
Did you know that your Facebook Profile Page is limited to 5000 followers? While it might seem like a lot, you may need the room as your business grows.
Instead, create your Fan Page, where you can have an unlimited number of followers and can promote your business, your products and/or your services freely.
2. Not Enough Interaction. The biggest downfall after people set up their Fan Page is that they expect to post infrequently but still develop a loyal following, participation and interaction. It just doesn't work that way.
The solution is to consistently be interacting. You may not need to post massive updates several times a day. You can still keep it simple, but frequent interaction in necessary.
3. Trying to Keep Your Followers From Leaving Your Fan Page. By not inviting your Facebook fan page followers to visit other great links, you may be missing out on some big marketing opportunities.
Invite them to interact or check out new products or services on your business website. Invite them to check out your other social networking accounts like Twitter or You Tube.
Remember, the goal is to market your business...not to market Facebook.
